Located at Trübsee lake in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Iglu-Dorf Engelberg offers unheated igloos with thermo mats and expedition sleeping bags. The igloos have been decorated by international artists and are connected via a tunnel system. Guests have access to a heated public toilet in the centre of the village. A welcome drink, a Fondue dinner, tea throughout the evening and the use of a shared hot tub with mountain views are included in the rates. Breakfast is served at the nearby mountain restaurant. Guests are offered a guided tour through the igloo village with instructions from professional guides, as well as a snow-shoe or night time walk if the weather permits.
Null Stern Hotel

On July 2 2016, the conceptual artists, Frank and Patrik Riklin, Atelier für Sonderaufgaben and hospitality professional Daniel Charbonnier, Minds in Motion SA, re-opened “Null Stern – the only star is you” in the form of an open air double bed. With support from the Art Safiental and Safiental Tourism, the double bed is available for reservations. The vision for the 3 partners is to install similar beds throughout the Swiss countryside in collaboration with regional tourism organizations.
