Ice Hotel

Situated in Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden, the Icehotel features rooms entirely made out of sculptured ice from the neighbouring Torne River. Warm rooms are also offered. A bookable sauna experience featuring a sauna, wood-burning hot tub and ice bath is available for a fee.
Holding a temperature between -5 to -8 degrees Celsius, the individually themed cold rooms include hand-carved ice furnishings by international artists. Guests sleep in thermal sleeping bags on exclusive Carpe Diem beds covered in reindeer hides. In the morning, guests can enjoy the shared sauna. All warm rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels, dining area, and a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Free WiFi is offered in all rooms.

Salt and Sill is located far out on the island Klädesholmen, north of Gothenburg on the beautiful Swedish west coast. We are Sweden´s first floating hotel. Six cubic houses are built on pontoons and will be floating outside the restaurant. The hotel consists of six two-storey buildings on floating pontoons. The hotel has 23 rooms with 46 beds, one of which is a suite. All the rooms have their own entrance and access to an outdoor seating area.

Well, with the help of a group of well known designers and architects, we have now turned the idea into a reality. We have a group of unique rooms created in harmony with nature, and with our ecological values. They are all set in the forest where we live, a refinement of the local conditions. “Dig where you stand” as the saying goes. It is important that we find another way to value the forest, rather than to cut the trees for industrial use. This Boreal forest is one of the Earth’s lungs. We need to look after it. Our inspiration came from the documentary film “Trädälskaren” (Treelover) by Jonas Selberg Augustsen. It is the story of three men from the urban environment who look to get back to their roots by building a tree house together. It is a philosophical film about what “the tree” means to us humans, both historically and culturally. It has been our inspiration to expand the idea into a hotel, with the added dimension of innovative modern design. We are working to make the construction and daily running of the Tree Houses as green as possible, which is consistent with our values and, we hope, yours too.
Kolarbyn Eco-lodge in Sweden

Kolarbyn is called Sweden's most primitive hotel. It is a natural refuge for silence, wilderness and adventure in a beautiful forest setting just a couple of hours away from the capital Stockholm. Guests from all over the world come to relax and enjoy the nature or join us for a wildlife safari and meet with wild animals in their natural enviroment. Dates for our guided tours and events can be found in the calendar. For groups of at least four persons we can also arrange tours at other dates.
Kolarbyn consists of twelve little forest huts located in a glade by the beautiful lake Skärsjön. Many guests choose to come here for lodging in one of the huts, just like a normal hotel, just more primitive and much more adventurous! There is no electricity but live candles and a crackling fire place that will guide you asleep. After a silent night you slowly wake up to bird´s song and a fresh swim in the lake. Kolarbyn is undoubtely a true nature experience for both family and friends.
The area offer good opportunities for a wide range of free outdoor activities with excellent fishing opportunities and a variety of walking trails to explore.
